The Socratic School of STEM emphasizes a learner-driven, Socratic approach that blends rigorous academics with real-world inquiry, guiding students to become confident thinkers and principled doers.
Socratic School of STEM Engineering Camps offer weekly, hands-on projects designed to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in middle and high school students. The curriculum blends Socratic, learner-driven inquiry with purposeful STEM integration, focusing on mastery and real-world application. Students engage in activities such as robotics, coding, rockets, and recycled racers, fostering an understanding of how numbers drive business decisions, solve problems, and create opportunities. The program emphasizes a continuous learning cycle of 'Seek, Solve, Serve,' where students ask questions, build understanding through disciplined work, and apply knowledge to help others. This approach aims to cultivate independence, intellectual confidence, and advanced academic readiness.
Beyond core projects, learners can explore various clubs and enrichment activities like Robotics Team & Competitions, Finance Club, Business Fairs & Student Ventures, and a Maker Studio for building and fabrication. The camp's philosophy encourages students to explore widely and then delve deeply into their interests, practicing real skills and building confidence. The program is designed to prepare learners not only to calculate but to think like entrepreneurs, investors, and future changemakers, ensuring they graduate with capability and purpose.
A typical day involves instructor-led demonstrations followed by significant time dedicated to hands-on building or project work, often in pairs or small groups at shared workstations.
This camp is best for students who are naturally curious, enjoy solving problems, and love exploring technology, science, math, or engineering through hands-on experiences.
